Labor policy of OÜ Thermoarena

OÜ Thermoarena’s labour policy applies in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Estonia, and implements the basic FSC labour requirements as follows:

The use of child labour

  • The company does not employ child labour.
  • The company does not employ workers who are younger than 15 years old.
  • An employee who is under the age of 18 does not perform hazardous or difficult work, except for training that complies with applicable laws and regulations.

Forced and compulsory labour

  • The company excludes any form of forced or compulsory work. The employment relationships are voluntary and based on mutual consent. There is no evidence of activities leading to forced or compulsory labour, including:
    • Physical and sexual abuse
    • From debt bondage
    • Withholding wages, including charging a fee for hiring and/or demanding a deposit as a condition for starting work
    • Restricting movement/relocating
    • Confiscation of passports and identification documents
    • Threatening to complain to authorities.

Discrimination in employment and occupation

  • The company’s recruitment and tenure practices are non-discriminatory.

Freedom to establish organizations and the right to collective bargaining

  • Employees have the option to establish or join employee organizations at their discretion.
  • Employees’ organizations have full freedom to draw up their own statutes and rules of procedure.
  • Employees have the right to legal activities to establish, join or assist an employee organization, as well as the right to refrain from such activities; the company does not discriminate or penalize employees for exercising these rights.
  • The Company negotiates with legally established employee organizations and/or their duly elected representatives in good faith and with the best of intentions for the conclusion of a collective agreement.
  • Collective agreements are implemented where they exist.

Burnshield OÜ, a subsidiary of OÜ Thermoarena, which impregnates wooden products with fire-retardant, also follows the provisions of the labour policy described above.
